Serina Tourangeau’s background is in species-at-risk research and conservation, with experience working across diverse taxa, including freshwater turtles, rare plant communities, tree species, and insects. She uses spatial analysis to better understand ecological patterns and processes across landscapes. As an MSc student, her research focuses on the spatial ecology of at-risk freshwater turtles, including Blanding’s turtles. She investigates habitat selection, movement, and behaviour to inform evidence-based conservation planning and adaptive management, supporting recovery efforts across both pristine and human-influenced landscapes.
