Jon Bisset is the senior biologist and principal at Jon Bisset and Associates, leading the Columbia Headwaters Aquatic Restoration Secwépemc Strategy (CHARS). This initiative, led by the Shuswap Band and the Columbia Wetlands Stewardship Partners (CWSP), focuses on restoring tributaries between Canal Flats and Golden to support key aquatic species, including Westslope Cutthroat Trout, Bull Trout, Chinook Salmon, and Burbot. With extensive experience in fish habitat restoration across Canada, Jon has been living and working in the Kootenays, dedicated to revitalizing aquatic ecosystems for the benefit of local Indigenous Peoples, valley residents, and future generations.
