Originally from Ireland, Cian Kelly’s foundation in ecology and wildlife conservation focused on the intersection of ecology and agriculture. Growing up in the Irish countryside inspired him to pursue a BSc in Ecology, followed by an MSc in Wildlife Conservation. After moving to Salt Spring Island in 2022 to conduct research for his Master’s, Cian relocated to the Columbia Valley in 2025. Currently serving as a Wildlife Biologist for the Shuswap Band, he is embracing the transition to the diverse ecosystems of the Secwépemc territory. As a relative newcomer to the region, Cian feels privileged to work within such a breathtaking landscape and is dedicated to supporting the Band’s ongoing stewardship and conservation initiatives.
