Dr. Dale Leckie
Wings over the Rockies Nature Festival is proud and pleased to have Dr. Dale Leckie as our keynote speaker for our 26th annual festival. Not only an active outdoors person, he is a geologist, scientist, speaker, and best-selling author of tour books for the public. Dr. Leckie’s career involved teaching and training people about geology and geomorphology. He has edited numerous books and published widely on the geology of western Canada. Writing books is the natural progression in sharing his knowledge. His writings encourage people to get out, explore and understand what the landscape of Western Canada has to offer.
His most recent book, The Scenic Geology of Alberta: A Roadside Touring and Hiking Guide, topped the best seller lists as did his first book Rocks, Ridges, and Rivers: Geological Wonders of Banff, Yoho, and Jasper National Parks.
Dr. Leckie’s upcoming book is tied to the theme of the 2023 Wings over the Rockies Nature Festival which explores the close relationship between landscape (geology) and wildlife, and will be the subject for the 2023 Wings Over the Rockies keynote address.
We are very confident that Dr. Leckie’s profound knowledge of our Western Canadian landscapes and nature will provide a very engaging and entertaining presentation for all keynote attendees.
