Presenters for Wings over the Rockies

Jessie Paloposki

Jess started her career as a Park Ranger with BC Parks 2008. As a Ranger she spent time conducting ecological monitoring in sensitive areas, habitat restoration, as well as education and enforcement of ecological legislation. Through working with BC Parks, she learned that passive education and enforcement only goes so far. She believes that the creation of meaningful experiences with the natural environment is the best way for people to reconnect with the natural world and understand the necessity of protecting and preserving our planet. In 2016, she decided to take on a new challenge with East Kootenay Invasive Species Council as their Education Coordinator. She is now helping educate our communities about the threat of invasive species to our wild areas.

Jess has an appetite for exploring. In her spare time, she can be found travelling BC and beyond seeking mountains to climb, rivers to paddle, and new people to meet; always searching for new ways to share her passion for wild areas with others.

Jess graduated from Royal Roads University with a Masters of Arts in Environmental Education and Communication. She also holds a Diploma in Natural Resource Management Officer Technology from Vancouver Island University.
