Event Description

Living Lakes Canada has been delivering community-based water stewardship initiatives in the Columbia Basin for the past 13 years. From the awarding winning Lake Windermere Project, to certifying volunteers, professionals and industry representatives in federal water monitoring protocols, to the first citizen science groundwater monitoring program in BC. Join this multi-talented team for a workshop about the interconnectedness of groundwater within our global ecosystems. Learn about aquifers in the Columbia Basin, the Columbia Basin Community-Based Groundwater Monitoring Program, other water monitoring initiatives, and the new Water Sustainability Act. Tell us about your water source and participate in this interactive workshop on protecting our valued water resources. Special guest and Living Lakes Canada advisor, Paul Bauman, Professional Geophysicist and Engineer, will share stories of his experiences carrying out groundwater investigations in Northern Uganda.
